androp 『Voice』

androp (“anne-drop”) is a Japanese band formed in 2008. Fronted by Uchisawa Takahito 内澤崇仁 who hails from Aomori (which seems to be churning out some really awesome artists like amazarashi), their music is not your typical off-the-mill summer pop-rock flavour. Mostly bass-driven, they feel more like a hybrid of sakanaction and RADWIMPS, although this is a very poor description.

The single was released on August 14 and is the theme song for a new Japanese drama series called Woman, which centers around a recently widowed mother of two who hit rock bottom before her estranged mother reconnects with her after twenty years.

Voice goes on sale on August 21 with two other tracks and can be downloaded on iTunes.
