I’m not a gamer. I own a Nintendo Wii so that I could play Rabbids. I’ve never had any reason to buy an Xbox 360 or Playstation 4. And for some years now, I’ve been watching other gamers upload their gameplays on Youtube. So it saved me a lot of hassle of buying the game myself, while watching the mistakes that others make. I mean … Continue reading Persona 5 makes me want to buy a PS4.
Frankly I don’t where to start. There’s no dispute that Yuri!!! on Ice was spectacular in many ways. Its animation sequence is next to flawless, the BGM and theme songs uplifting. Accuracy in its resemblance to competitive figure skating, yup. I understand the plot. Katsuki Yuri is down, depressed, lost and needs someone to help him get back up on his feet. He meets his idol, Viktor … Continue reading Yuri!!! on Ice – the big yawn

STOP THE PRESS RIGHT NOW. Because while Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress is a show that anyone looking for good storytelling with gorgeous art direction should watch, the fanart by illustrators like WLOP is taking character design to a whole new level. The original art by this amazing Hong Kong-based artist is available on Deviant Art. He/she is also producing a webcomic called Ghostblade that’s been in production … Continue reading Most amazing Mumei fanart yet
I suppose folks in the anime circuit would think of these two when I mention Junichiro Tanizaki and Naomi: Watch Bungou Stray Dogs, by the way. This series has a nice balance between thriller/mystery and silliness. Sadly but unsurprisingly, real-life novelist Junichiro Tanizaki looks nothing like his cartoon counterpart. But his book, Naomi, was quite something. A quick background: Junichiro Tanizaki (1886 – 1975) is considered to … Continue reading Junichiro Tanizaki’s “Naomi” is a b**tch.
Aw crap. I’m real sorry for the MIA in a month, guys. Nov-Dec is the worst time to blog because it’s my peak period at work, and things are gonna get more intense for the next two weeks. But hey, at least a couple of exciting things happened: I got my first iPhone ever, after four years of Android. It’s forever pink to me. I … Continue reading 30-day anime challenge #9: Best anime villian
Taking the liberty to share some fictional relationships that stood out to me the most.
Hiyori may not be a favorite among Noragami followers, but without her, the series may not have progressed to where it is now, seeing that she’s a catalyst practically all the arcs. And I’ve personally enjoyed watching her relationship with Yato progress.
Though honestly, this would be my favourite scene in the entire series:
I’m not gonna lie about the fictional characters I’ve had crushes on for as long as I can remember. But as with all fictional characters, they have retired with the alternative worlds that I set them in, with infinity happier endings than the fates their creators subjected them to. Or at the very least, give them a kind of closure I think they’d be happy … Continue reading 30-day anime challenge #7: Your anime crush
This topic came at a perfect time, because I watched One Punch Man for the first time tonight. To be honest, I wasn’t sure if this was another typical shounen-type of series. It reeks of Dragonball Z everywhere. But then I sat in for the session with Makoto Furukawa at the Anime Festival Asia, and I was intrigued. I see why now. I’m already on to episode 4, and I … Continue reading 30-day anime challenge #6: Anime you want to see but haven’t yet
This picture needs to words. It says it all. It’s been my go-to series for silliness. And with nearly ten years since it first aired, there’s something nostalgic about it too. Love these boys. And Haruhi. Continue reading 30-day anime challenge #5: Anime you’re ashamed you enjoyed
